Give the king his due.

It's probably not surprising to anyone who frequents this blog that I love superheroes. Love 'em all. And while I sadly haven't gotten into the adventures of T'Challa, sovereign of Wakanda, I do respect the man and would love to see him in film. It be amazing to see a black man save the day from White Gorilla or aliens or something.

And from the looks of it, we may get one! But it seems Marvel is shuffling its feet with the project.
Here's a quote from a SplashPage article:

As for "Black Panther," he noted that T'Challa "has a lot of the same characteristics of a Captain America: great character, good values." But the movie might be difficult to pull off, he said, because of having to create Wakanda from the ground up. "It's always easier basing it here. For instance, 'Iron Man 3' is rooted right here in Los Angeles and New York. When you bring in other worlds, you're always faced with those difficulties."

Okay, guys, I get it. Your worried it won't do well.  Your worried that you'll accidentally make something racist. You want to doing the first mainstream black superhero justice.

Ladies and gentlemen of Marvel INC, please attend carefully:

CALM DOWN

Black Panther is, in essence an adventurer. His home of Wakanda is a place of technological  wonder and ancient beauty. His character is simple and his heart is of a hero. Don't worry.

I know you guys can do it. So take a breath and get to it. And if you still are worried, get the NAACP involved with the production.
